The meeting began at 5:00 p.m. via Zoom.
Pay Requests – At this time there will not be any pay requests submitted for the January 10th
Board of Education meeting.
Mr. Gladbach shared final pay requests for Ray Martin Co. have been submitted and closed out.
Also, pay requests for Bradco Roofing and Crawford Roofing have not yet been finalized.
Bellevue West Main Gym Lighting – The contractor DC Electric, anticipates to be completed
prior to winter break with the light fixture replacement in the main gym area.
Bellevue West Auditorium HVAC – At the October 4th Board meeting, it was approved for GP
Architecture to create the RFP and solicit bids for the replacement of the HVAC units in the
existing auditorium at Bellevue West. The existing units on the roof are original to the building.
It was determined one of the units is not working and the other is only at half capacity. Mr.
Gladbach received bids on December 16th with Ray Martin Co. being the lowest bid at $248,500.
At the January 10th Board meeting, the Board will be asked to approve the bid from Ray Martin
Co. Mr. Gladbach anticipates work will begin Summer 2022.
2021 Roof Projects –
Bellevue West Roof Replacement – Mr. Gladbach shared the majority of the work on the roof at
Bellevue West has been completed by Bradco Roofing. The contractor indicated a final punch list
needs to be completed, along with the final inspection and warranty issued by the manufacture.
Bellevue East – Mr. Gladbach shared at the October 4th Board meeting, the bid from Mejia
Roofing in the amount of $450,000 for the partial roof replacement at Bellevue East was approved
by the Board. The contractor has ordered the materials and would like to begin work in the Spring
2022 to avoid any additional issues with the roof. Mr. Gladbach will continue to communicate
with the contractor and administration on a time table for the project once materials are received.
Mission – Crawford Roofing continues work on the roof project at Mission. The contractor has
been having issues with material availability, the labor shortage and weather conditions. Also, the
roofing manufacture requested to perform a test on the roof for warranty purposes, so the
contractor is awaiting the inspection. The anticipated completion of this project is unknown at this
time.
Frank Kumor Career Center – Mr. Gladbach is working with the district on a conceptual design
for the front entry of the Frank Kumor Career Center. This would make the building flow with
the other buildings on the campus. Once a preliminary design is completed, it will be shared with
the Bond Oversight Committee.
Also, Dr. Rippe shared the district received a donation from the BPS Foundation and Bellevue
Community Foundation, which would help add to the current Health Science Program, along with
adding a new Education Program at the Frank Kumor Career Center. At the December 6th Board
meeting, there were numerous bids approved by the Board to complete the work needed for the
two programs at the Career Center.
Safety/Security – Mr. Gladbach shared the district anticipates to upgrade the safety/security at
Fairview and Mission during 2022. At this time, the Fort Crook improvements will not take place
until 2023.
Technology – There were not any updates on technology.
Transportation – There were not any updates for Transportation.
The Committee adjourned the meeting at 5:22 p.m. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for
February 17, 2022. Mr. Gladbach will update the Oversight Committee with the bond financials
during the next meeting.
