The meeting began at 5:34 p.m. via Zoom.
Pay Requests – At this time there will not be any pay requests submitted for the May 3rd Board of
Education meeting.
Mr. Gladbach continues to wait for Ray Martin Co. to closeout five projects and submit the pay
requests. The contractor originally planned to have the closeout completed by the end of March.
Bellevue West Gym HVAC Project – Mr. Gladbach reported the rooftop units for the Bellevue
West HVAC project were installed March 15th while students were on spring break. The units were
officially started on April 7th and fully functioning. The control technicians finalized the majority
of the control connections with minor adjustments needing to be completed. The school
maintenance personnel have control of the units. The final punch list and pay request have not
been submitted.
Bellevue West Auditorium –Mr. Gladbach shared the preliminary plans with the Committee and
the process that has been made on the design development of the Bellevue West auditorium. Also,
bid alternatives were discussed for additional space if the budget allows. Plans are anticipated to
be complete by May with the finalized plans being presented to the Board for approval at the June Board meeting.
2021 Roof Projects –
Bellevue West – Mr. Gladbach shared a pre-construction meeting was held with Bradco Co. to
begin the scheduling of the partial roof replacement at Bellevue West. The staging area utilized
for the project will be the north parking lot by the baseball fields. Materials will start shipping the
week of April 26th. Preliminary work on the project will begin around May 24th. Full scale work
is anticipated to begin June 1st. Mr. Gladbach had a discussion with the contractor the importance
of staying on schedule for the project.
Bellevue East – Mr. Gladbach shared a pre-construction meeting was held with Stonebrook
Exterior and the Bellevue East staff to begin coordinating the schedule for the partial roof
replacement. The contractor indicated materials will begin to arrive the week of May 24th with
work to begin June 1st. The anticipated completion date is August 1st.
CHAP – Mr. Gladbach shared a pre-construction meeting was held with Mejia Roofing on the
roof replacement at CHAP. Materials are scheduled to arrive by May 27th, with work to begin
after the holiday. With the size of the roof, the contractor anticipates it will be completed by mid-
June. Mejia Roofing is coordinating with Ray Martin Co., who is installing the new HVAC
system, to complete work needed on curb flashing for the HVAC units on the roof.
Mission – Mr. Gladbach is trying to schedule a pre-construction meeting with Crawford Roofing.
The partial roof replacement at Mission is anticipated to follow the same schedule as the other
roofing projects.
CHAP HVAC – Mr. Gladbach is planning a pre-construction meeting with Ray Martin Co. the
week of April 12th. Equipment for the project should be arriving the first week of June. Prior to
the new HVAC system being installed, the district had an asbestos contractor evaluate the building.
Asbestos was located in different areas of the building. At the May 3rd Board meeting, the Board
will be asked to approve the bid from New Horizons in the amount of $26,000 for the asbestos
abatement. The install of the new HVAC is anticipated to begin on May 26th.
CTE Building – At the April Board meeting, the Board approved bids for the installation of
electrical, plumbing and flooring in the temporary classroom for the CNA program for the 2021-
22 school year. Once bids are received back from the Bellevue West auditorium project, this will
give the district an idea of how much funding will then be available to finalize phase 2.
Safety/Security – There were not any updates for Technology.
Transportation – There were not any updates for Transportation.
The Committee adjourned the meeting at 6:12 p.m. The next meeting is May 20th at 5:30 p.m. and
will be held via Zoom.
